The Chopped Cheese Classic was created by a collection of small business owners within the  New York City soccer community.

As entrepreneurs, we see bodegas as one of the purest expressions of the American Dream —  immigrant-built, community-rooted, and fiercely independent. They are woven into the fabric of our city’s culture, and we felt that was worth celebrating.

This spring, we traveled from borough to borough, inviting the most iconic bodegas, delis, and corner stores to be represented in today’s event. Their stories were shared in the “Choppin’ It Up” interview series on Instagram, and we captured these images to memorialize the moment.
