Our priorities

• To make Bathurst and its surrounding villages the envy of regional NSW
• To make Bathurst the most liveable city in NSW

WATER SECURITY & WATER QUALITY

• Climate sensitive development including the introduction of a rainwater tank subsidy scheme.

• Ensure future suburbs are water neutral with stormwater capture, grey water recycling, rainwater and potable water systems.

QUALITY LEADERSHIP & REPRESENTATION

• Greater transparency, better communication and better community consultation with ALL the community, especially those who feel they aren’t being heard by the current council.

• Quality and proactive representation outside of Bathurst with funding bodies and potential investors.

• Work more closely with rural and urban villages to ensure they get a piece of the funding pie.

• Encourage the new councillors to host a day long forum with business and heritage stakeholders, senior and relevant Council staff to work through contentious issues.

TOURISM & MARKETING

• Build tourism with the help of strong, local tourism ambassadors.

INFRASTRUCTURE

• Support the Bathurst Integrated Medical Centre.

• Focus on solving the traffic issues from the eastern side of the city and parking in the city centre.

• Explore the possibility of quality apartment developments in and around the city to help deal with housing affordability using the Dairy Farmers development as an example of best practice.

• Don’t let Bathurst become an ugly, far, far western suburb of Sydney.

SOCIAL

• Promote the development of a Social Well Being Index linked to the Community Strategic Plan. Formally measure and set targets that ensure a high quality of life for all Bathurstians.

We don’t have all the answers, but we are committed to trying to find the best ones to give our kids a bright, secure and hopeful future.
